Days & Nights in Tijuana….
There are so many wonderful, crazy, and exciting things about Tijuana. I really don’t know where to begin….. Let me give you a “heads up”, before I get started here. This article is very “risque”. What I am about to tell you is very explicit. Straight to the point!
Alright then, fair warning.
Tijuana is, at least in my opinion, an incredibly wicked, exciting, and corrupt city. Probably one of the most decadent in the whole world. For one, it has the largest “legal” prostitution district in the world. You can literally walk down the sidewalk as hundreds of bikini clad women, wearing 6 inch platform heels are whistling at you. Each one vying for your attention. For as little as $7.00 USD, or 100-150 pesos you can get a b.j.! With or without protection. BUYER BEWARE! If you’re curious about the legality of it all, it goes like this…legally prostitution is not accepted. In reality, the police look the other way. I’ve NEVER seen them even approach or speak to the prostitutes.
Next interesting aspect of Tijuana… drugs! In the “Zona Norte” or Northern Zone, where the majority of the prostitution goes on, at the end of each street you will find men selling drugs. They basically will just stand there and yell “Globos”! “Cuantas”? Translation “Balloons” “How many”? They sell meth for about $3.00 USD. You actually get about $30.00 USD worth for only $3.00. That’s incredibly cheap! You can go to any where from 4-5 different doors in that district, knock on the door, and buy basically what ever narcotic you prefer. It’s 24hrs a day, 7 days a week. No it doesn’t matter if they don’t know you. It’s just such a common practice there, it’s not a big deal. Where here in the U.S., you have to know some one. Then wait forever for them to show up. It’s a real pain in the ass here. Over there life is very exciting. You are always playing a very high stakes game of cat and mouse with the police. If they want to they can, and do invent accusations about you. Just to make you more apt to pay them their bribe. Believe me, you really have nothing to worry about from the cartels. That’s basically the U.S. media’s invention. Although you must always keep your guard up, and beware of the police! Fortunately though, the bribe shouldn’t set you back any more than $20.00 USD. In a nutshell….Tijuana rocks! Well if you’re into that sort of thing.
If you want to take a cheap vacation, Tijuana is also perfect. Playas de Tijuana, or Tijuana’s beaches is just a short distance away. No prostitution, no drugs either. There are also a few casinos in Baja California as well. I wouldn’t say that I’d suggest it as a destination for gambling, since in Mexico there aren’t any laws that enforce percentage gaming.
